Kahleetah Starr Strauss
April 29, 1919-September 28, 2008
STILWELL - Kahleetah Starr Strauss was born April 29, 1919, in Stilwell, to George and Oma Briggs Starr. Katy passed peacefully from this life to be with her heavenly father on Sept. 28, 2008, at the age of 89.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by three daughters: Linda Springwater and husband, Dennis, of Park Hill, Paula Simpson and husband, Don, of Tulsa, Nancy Sparkman and husband, David, of Tulsa; six grandchildren: Bryan Dirks and wife, Bettina, of Tulsa, Kevin Dirks, of Rio Linda, Calif., Dennise Giddings and husband, Clark, of San Antonio, Texas, Steven Springwater and wife, Christy, of Park Hill, Adam Sparkman, of Fayetteville, Ark., Elizabeth Sparkman, of Lawrence, Kan.; eleven great-grandchildren: Matthew, Amanda, Nicolette, Rowan and Katy Dirks, Dillin, Jake, Strauss and Faith Springwater, Jon Clark and Emma Giddings; one special brother-in-law, Nick Strauss; seven nieces and nephews; and many other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jamie; her parents, George and Oma Starr; sisters, Reba Starr Robison and Lucille Starr; and brother, Rex Starr.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, at Roberts Reed-Culver Funeral Home, in Stillwell.
Gifts in her honor can be made to our missionaries (Misses Ayling and Bowman) that founded Grace Chapel in the 1940s where the Strauss family were all saved and attended church through the years. The missionaries are now in their 90s and are still faithful prayer warriors for our families, and so many others. They have touched so many lives over the years.
