Dollie was a very devoted, generous, loving wife, mother, and Granny to her family. She was an extremely hard worker even when she was young, as she would tell of helping her dad teardown and build barns. She could work like a man and swing a sledgehammer like one too. She also had the muscles to show for her hard work. She later worked at Stilwell Foods as a poly-bagger for many years until she decided to quit work, stay home, and raise her grandsons. She liked gardening and yard work but really enjoyed having the grandsons to help her. She said many times “if hard work killed a person, I would have been dead a long time ago”.

She gave her life to the Lord at an early age.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband LaVerne Smallen, 3 brothers: Sam, Richard, and Benny Hudson and 3 sisters: Ruby Horn, Glynis Hudson and Jimmie Wadsworth and a step great great-grandchild, Paiden.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Dean Smallen (Sue Ann Smallen), grandsons, Jason “Jake” Smallen (Jennie Sue McCuistion) and Jerriad (Tate) Smallen (Melanie Clinton) and great grand kids, Landon “Chase” Eldridge, Dustin Ward (Autumn), Sammy Ward and Daniel McCuistion and great-great grandkids: Lacie, Saydee, Kayden, Chloe, Mila and Keira Ward and Caitlyn and Conner McCuistion. Special nieces Alice Faye Jack and Lola Hake and great nephew James Gilbert along with several other relatives and many friends survive her also.

Dollie was the happiest when she was independent and lived at Stilwell Senior Housing and able to go to eat at the Senior Citizen Center. She thoroughly enjoyed her time with these friends.

Graveside services to be held at 1 pm on Friday, April 24, 2020 at Stilwell City Cemetery. The service arrangements will be under Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home
