Deborah Sue Slagle, daughter of Charles William and Minnie Kate (McCracken) Mattix, was born on December 18, 1951 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and departed this life on Sunday, January 15, 2012 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years and 28 days.
She worked in the cash office at Wal*Mart for several years. Everywhere she went she had a jug of Dr. Pepper. Debbie also worked as a registered medical assistant. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball and going to the casino. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death was her husband: Bobby Slagle and her father: Charles William Mattix.
She is survived by a loving family that includes her sons: Chad Smith and wife Karen of Stilwell, OK, C.J. Smith and wife Shelly of Ward, AR, Corey Slagle and wife Kimberly of Edmond, OK, grandson: Hayden Smith of Ward, AR, granddaughters: Brooke Smith, Taylor Smith, Becca Smith, Ally Smith, Reagan Smith, Cagen Smith, Cameron Smith, Emma Slagle, mother: Minnie Shewmake of Bartlesville, OK, siblings: Charlotte Western of Hattiesburg, MS, Charles Mattix and Billy Wayne Mattix of Bartlesville, OK, Linda Mattox of Bentonville, AR. Debbie is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel.
