Saundra Louise Pettit, the daughter of Cale and Audra Louise (Pettit) Gonzales, was born September 16, 1958, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She went home to be with her Lord on April 2, 2012, at her home in Westville, Oklahoma while surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Saundra was a member of the United Methodist Indian Church. She loved attending church, praising the Lord, going to gospel singings and enjoyed singing herself. She had a continual smile that never wavered even during her final days.
Saundra never met a stranger and especially loved her little friend, Clayton. During the last seven years, she made many friends while receiving care at the dialysis center. Saundra never allowed her illness or disability to keep her from doing the things she loved. She had a collection of stuffed animals and each one was received gratefully and treasured by her. She valued her family and enjoyed spending time with her great nieces and nephews.
Those preceding her in death include, her parents, Cale and Louise Gonzales, maternal grandparents, Bill and Cindie Lou Pettit, paternal grandparents, Jones and Eliza Gonzales, a great niece, Cale Briann Gonzales-Murphy, and a great nephew, Gavin Gunter Gonzales.
She leaves behind a loving family which includes, one brother, Jeff Gonzales and wife, Cindy, of Bunch; three sisters, Sherry Denise Reed, of Orange County, CA, Valerie Lynn Taylor and husband, Curtis, of Westville, Caleen Bolin and husband, Everett, of Dry Creek; a very special uncle with whom she grew up, Bill Pettit and wife, Beth, of Hulbert; four nephews, Steven Kyle and William Justin McNac, Jeffrey Hayes and Jonathon Cale Gonzales; four nieces, Sheena Celice and Venessa Coe Gonzales, Kelsey Licole Bolin and Jamie Anderson; four great nephews, ten great nieces, and four special friends, Shawna Nakedhead, Faythe Fourkiller, Anita Newman and Roberta Galcatcher.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ronny Livers and Bro. Jim Muskrat officiating. Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
