Edwin G. Patterson, son of Samuel Arthur and Verna Cleo (Kelley) Patterson was born January 4, 1940 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on July 22, 2010 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 18 days.
Ed served his country proudly in the United State Air Force. He loved to hunt, fish, go horseback riding and tending to his yard work. He had a great talent for woodworking he made everything from birdhouses to beds. He had a great love for his dogs but most of all for his family whom he enjoyed spending time with. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; Jewell (Pruett) Deffenbough and Carolyn Janice Lowe Eagle, 3 brothers; Herbert, Paul and H.P. Patterson, and 2 best friends; Leon and Frog Price.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife; Deborah Patterson of the home in Stilwell, Ok, 5 sons; Howard Patterson and wife Sherry, Dewayne Patterson and wife Rhonda, Jeff Patterson and wife Valerie, Carl Patterson and wife Terri all of Stilwell, Ok, Barney Girdner in the U.S. Military stationed in Afghanistan, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. 5 sisters; Reba Christine Hunter of Richardson, TX, Billie Garrett of Sand Springs, Ok, Sue Asbill of Bunch, Ok, Barbara Johnson and Sheridan Patterson both of Stilwell, Ok. 1 brother; Joe Myrl Patterson and wife Ollie of Ozark, Mo, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Memorial Services were held on Monday, July 26, 2010 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charles Hummingbird and Charles Hummingbird Jr. officiating. Inurnment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans Organization, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250.
