George Ann Putnam
February 22, 1938 - March 20, 2007
George Ann Putnam, the daughter of George "Buster" Thurber and Fannie (West) Thurber, was born February 22, 1938 in Bunch, Oklahoma.
She went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2007 at the age of 69.
George Ann spent most of her life in Wichita, Kansas where her three children were raised.
She was a born again Christian who loved her Lord and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Stilwell.
A homemaker her whole life, her passion was being a "granny" to her beloved grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Galen Putnam, her parents, Fannie & Buster Thurber, one brother, John Thurber, one sister, Bernice Golden and one grandson, John Edward Workman.
Her surviving family includes one son, Mark Putnam and wife, Darlene, of Stilwell; two daughters, Diana Christie, of Stilwell, and Jill Poindexter, of Tulsa, OK; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many friends, relatives and loved ones also survive her.
Services were held Friday, March 23, 2007 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Pastor Don Waldrop officiating.
Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery with Mick Thurber officiating.
Burial was under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
