Reid Nail
May 25, 1919-March 9, 2009
Reid Nail of Cookson, Oklahoma was born May 25, 1919 near Kingston, Arkansas to Tommie and Mollie King Nail.
Reid went home to be with his Lord on March 9, 2009 at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 12 days.
Reid served his country proudly as a sergeant in the United States Army during World War 11. He served a year in New Guinea and a year in the Philippines. He received serval honors including a good conduct medal, and a Philippines Liberation ribbon with one star, he also received a bronze arrowhead.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Herbert Nail and Sherman Nail, three sisters; Minnie Silk, Nora Cookson and Ugie Horn, one nephew; Michael Reid Nail and one niece; Kathryn Sue Nail Stacey.
Reid is survived by one brother; Thomas "Tic" Nail and wife Eunice of Cookson, OK, one sister; Lizzie Parker of Collinsville, one sister in law; Janie Nail, twenty four nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 13, 2009 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Donald Robertson and Ferrell Horn officiating.
Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
