Former Co-Owner of Drug Store Dies in Fort Smith – Stilwell Democrat Journal – September 22, 1988
Services for Mrs Lola Ann Allison Marshall, 76, of Spiro, were to be held Wednesday morning of this week at Hart Memorial Chapel in Stilwell' with Mr Leonard Navarre, minister, officiating, and interment in the Stilwell City Cemetery.
Mrs Marshall was born Aug. 5, 1912 in Pettigrew, Ark., to John and Ruth Hauptman Ober. She died Monday at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Ft Smith, Ark. She was married to Abe Allison in 1931 in Sapulpa. He preceded her in death in May, 1957. They owned and operated Allison Drug Store in Stilwell for over 40 years.
Mrs Marshall graduated from Westville High School in 1930 and from Northeastern State University" in 1957. She taught school in Fairfax, Berryhill, Spiro, and for 25 years in Evansville, Ark. She also taught private piano lessons for several years. She retired in 1977 in Spiro and made her home there until her death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spiro and a member of
he American Diabetes Association.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Phyllis Cantrell and Deannie Goins; and one son, David Lee Allison.
She is survived by one son, Darrell Allison, Sante Fe, N. Mex,; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family prefers contributions to American
