Dr. Gary Jones
April 8, 1943- Feb. 16, 2009
Dr. Gary Jones was born April 8, 1943, to Opal and Robert Jones of Welling. Gary lost his battle to cancer on Feb. 16, 2009, at his home in Stilwell.

Gary graduated from Cave Springs High School in 1961. Upon graduation, he served four years in the Air Force and one tour overseas during the Vietnam War. While serving in the armed forces, Gary met his wife, Linda (Worley) Jones. They were married on June 24, 1966. Gary attended Northeastern State University and graduated in 1973. He then went on to the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry where he graduated in 1977. Gary returned to his home in Stilwell and opened his dental practice where he served his community for 22 years.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Robert Jones and his son, Vernon Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda (Worley) Jones, and three children, his son, Dr. Steve Jones and wife, Angela, of Tahlequah, his daughter, Shelly Kitchens and husband, Kyle, of Edmond, his son, Jason Jones and wife, Rene, of Edmond, six grandchildren, Alexis Jones, Hunter and Madison Kitchens, Wyatt Jones and Lindsey and Spencer Risenhoover, two brothers, Floyd Jones, of Stilwell, and Bill Jones, of Tahlequah, and one sister, Shirley Jones, of Tahlequah, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Jack Steele officiating.

Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
