Shirley Ann Fletcher, daughter of Ruler Eddings and Clara Mae (Phillips) Eddings, was born on March 30, 1942 in Ft. Douglas, Arkansas and passed from this life on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years and 7 days.
Shirley married Johnny Fletcher on March 26, 1962. Their family quickly grew to include 5 children. She cherished her roles as wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley was a giving person. She enjoyed caring for her family, friends and anyone in need. Her smile was contagious, you couldn’t help but smile with her. She will always be remembered for her kindness and warmth.
She was preceded in death by her father: Ruler Eddings, husband: Johnny Fletcher on December 12, 2006 and brother: Bruce Eddings.
Shirley is survived by her mother: Clara Mae Eddings of Roland, OK, brother: Roy Eddings of Tulsa, OK, children: Danny Fletcher of Sallisaw, OK, Sherry Spears and husband Terry of Stillwater, OK, Rhonda Merrill and husband Linvel, Lori Grant and husband Charles, Andrea Fletcher, grandchildren: John Fletcher, Leslie and Lindsey Merrill, Lori and Jennifer Brown, all of Sallisaw, Amy Lassiter of Muldrow, OK, Jessica Rowe of Fayetteville, AR, Olivia Fletcher and Nicholas Spears of Stillwater, 5 great grandchildren: Tyler Martin, Cristen Martin, Sarah Martin, Jacob Lassiter, all of Muldrow, Ameli Rowe and Hannah Rowe of Fayetteville, daughter in law: Robin Fletcher of Sallisaw, sister in law: Marsha Eddings of Luther, OK. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Stilwell City Cemetery with Bro. Alphues Byrd officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
