February 10, 1908 - March 15, 2006
Linnie Irene Fields, age 98, departed this life on March 15, 2006 to join her parents, husband, children and other family and friends to be in the presence of her loving Savior.
Linnie was born February 10, 1908 in Marble City, Oklahoma to Ollie Mae Tisher and James Richard Bateman.
She was a member of the 1928 Stilwell High School graduating class. She was married to George fields August 5, 1939. She adopted his two children, Kenneth Doss and Helen Louise. After marriage they moved to Sunnyside, Washington and she worked as a checker for Safeway Stores until retirement. They returned to Stilwell and she became a foster grandparent in the Stilwell Schools for as long as her health would permit.
She had a great love to show the many small children she came in contact with. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and loved working in her church.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband George, children Kenneth Doss and Helen Louise, two brothers: Homer and Bill Bateman and one sister: Margaret Sue Bateman.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes two granddaughters: Belinda Camp of Branson, and Georgeanna Harley and husband Dave of Kettle Falls, Washington, four brothers: Jay Bateman of Cooledge, Arizona, Wayne Bateman and wife Evelyn of Raymore, Missouri, Bob Bateman of Stilwell, and Jack Bateman of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, two sisters: Betty Briggs and husband J.D. of Stilwell, and Leta Mae Allred of Lincoln. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Roberts/Reed - Culver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jimmie Varnell and Bro. Terry Tatum officiating.
Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed - Culver Funeral Home.
