Cortes Walter. Deweese, 79, died unexpectedly Sunday following a heart attack at his home on SH 51, west of Stilwell.
Deweese, a retired farmer, was born October 8, 1891, in Boone County, Arkansas.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Deweese of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Orrell and Mrs. Bee Bellamy, both of Fort Cobb. Mrs. Charlotte Weinmeister, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Fama Webb, Stilwell; and two sons, Ellis and Gillis Deweese, both of Stilwell.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Raymond and Herbert Patterson officiating. Interment was in the Stilwell City Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Jane Deweese, 80, a long-time resident of Adair County, died Friday at her home, six miles west of Stilwell.
Mrs. Deweese, born April 15, 1895, in Olney, Arkansas, is survived by: One son, Ellis Deweese, Stilwell: four daughters. Mildred Orrell and Bee Bellamy, both of Fort Cobb, Charolette Weinmeister, Oklahoma City, and Fama Webb. Stilwell; one brother, L.D. Harris, and one sister, Ester McDonald, both of Harrison. Ark.
Services were held Sunday in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Raymond Thompson and Herbert Patterson officiating. Interment was in the Stilwell City Cemetery.
