Bobby Eugene Cothren
March 10, 1959-September 21, 2007
Bobby Eugene Cothren was born March 10, 1959 to Junior and Myrtle Marie (Cain) Cothren.
He departed this life on September 21, 2007 at the age of 48 years, 6 months and 11 days.
In 1977 Bobby married his sweetheart, Debbie Smith and they were blessed with 2 sons; Robert and David. As the boys grew up, Bobby loved going to sporting events and track meets watching the boys, with pride only a father could have. He expressed each accomplishment they made.
In 1978 Bobby went to work for the City of Stilwell on the Utility Dept. He worked there until 1985, when he transferred to the ambulance service as a basic EMT. He went from a basic EMT to an intermediate and then on to be a paramedic.
At the time of his death, Bobby was serving as the director of the Stilwell ambulance and serving on the EMS advisory council in Oklahoma City.
Bobby loved and served the Lord with all his heart from a very young age. He loved the church and his church family. No matter how busy, his life was, he had time for the Lord and found time for anyone that had a need he could help with. He would often attend singings and go to homes, hospitals and nursing homes to visit with those too ill to attend service.
Bobby did numerous weddings and funerals. To the world Bobby may have just been a man, but to his family he was the world.
He leaves to mourn his passing a very loving wife of over 30 years, Debbie, his sons; Robert Cothren and David Cothren both of Stilwell, his granddaughters; Clara Cothren and Mercedes Cothren.
A special cousin; Kathy Bright, Church Families, special friends; Edgar and Denise Brown, his EMS family, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in the First Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Rutherford speaking and Bro. Bobby giving the message.
Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
