Sue Annetta Auffet was born March 31, 1918, in Stilwell, Oklahoma to John W. and Nina (Hughes) Shannon. She went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2011, at Stilwell Memorial Hospital at the age of 92 years, 11 months and 11 days.
Annetta was married to William F. “Bill” Auffet in Stilwell on December 25, 1935. Annetta and Bill made their home in Stilwell where they raised their family. Together they owned and operated Auffet’s Adair County Orchard for many years until Bill’s passing on December 18, 1994.
Annetta was a member of Victory Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, reading and canning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nina Shannon, husband, Bill Auffet, an infant daughter, Billie Sue Auffet and a great grandson, Aaron Short.
She leaves behind a loving family which includes, her children, John and Shirley Auffet, Janice and Boyd Holiman, all of Stilwell, Frances and Charles Willaby, of Owasso; seven grandchildren, Dr. Vanessa Anton, Randy and Jeff Holiman, Theresa Thomas, Harold Willaby, Dr. Rodney Auffet and Derrick Auffet, 14 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Glenn Hopkins, Don Varble and Leo Allard officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
