Bettye Mae (Sisco) (Ritter) Abbott

Bettye Mae (Sisco), Abbott was born December 10, 1928 in Stilwell, OK and departed this life on December 26,2020 at the Stilwell Nursing home at the age of 92 years and 16 days.

She was married to Burl Ritter in 1945 who was killed in an on-the-job accident in 1955. In 1960 she married Troy (Toots) Abbott and they were together for over 50 years until his death in 2011.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; William Sisco and Daisy (Eagleton) Sisco, 2 brothers; Bill Sisco and Jim Sisco, 5 sisters; baby sister Barbara Jo Sisco, Edna Price, Alyene Caviness, Delphine Morton, and Revon Isaacs.

On September 23, 1979 she obeyed the gospel and was baptized into Christ devoting the rest of her life to serving the Lord. She is a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include 2 sisters; Louise Ritter and Rita James both of Stilwell, OK, 3 sons; Bob Ritter and wife Linda, Grady Ritter and wife Kathy, Rick Ritter and wife Sandy, and an adopted brother of the boys James Reid and wife Jo all of Stilwell, OK, 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; a host of brothers and sisters in Christ, and other loved ones remain to mourn her passing.

Bettye loved her family. She was an avid cook and worked at the cafeteria for Stilwell Public schools for many years.

Because of the promises of God, the family is confident and comforted in the fact that she is now in Paradise, in a far better place.

Graveside services were held at 10 am on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, OK with Leon Brashears and Rick Ritter officiating. 

Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
