In 1945, he joined the Merchant Marines and served his country until his discharge. In 1993 Chuck met and married Debbie McDaniel and for the last 17 years they have made their home in Keys. Chuck and Debbie were members of the Pentecostal Church of God of Ft. Gibson.

To all, Chuck was known as a dairyman, an avid hunter, and a fisherman. Chuck enjoyed taking his dogs out and coon hunting and every year he looked forward to loading his mule Smokey up and heading to Colorado to see if he could get the Big One. When he wasnt hunting, he could be found on the lake trying to catch the Big One and sometimes the only Big One was the story he was telling. Chuck also enjoyed working in his garden, watching his fruit trees grow and telling corny jokes.
