Funeral services for Burl Franklin "Frank" Deason were held Friday, Sept. 11, at the Spade Mountain Church with Bro. Steven Hunter and Bro. Olin Vaughn officiating. Interment followed in the Spade Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.

He was born May 6, 1927 in Adair County, Okla. to Homer Leslie Deason and Flora Elizabeth (Walker) Deason. He departed this life Sept. 8, 1998 in Stilwell, Okla. at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 2 days.

Frank served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Della Mae O'Neal on Dec. 24, 1951 in Van Buren, Ark. Frank was of the Holiness faith.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Homer and Flora Deason; six brothers, Cecil, Jerry, Arlis, Bruce, Arie and Morris Deason; and one sister, Patsy Deason.

Frank is survived by: his wife, Della Mae Deason of the home in Stilwell; two sons, Burl Wesley Deason and his wife Alice Faye, and Richard Leon Deason; two granddaughters, Deanna Michelle Deason and Sonya Kay Deason; one stepgrandson, Richard Anthony Wilson; three stepgreat-granddaughters, Veronica, Amber and Elaina, all of Stilwell; three brothers, Murl Deason and Billy John Deason, both of Stilwell, and Dee Deason of Broken Arrow, Okla.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
