Arie "Toots" Deason
May 7, 1925 - October 15, 1996
Services for Arie B. “Toots” Deason were held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 18, 1996 at the Spade Mountain Holiness Church, with Reverend Gil Hooper officiating. Burial was in the Spade Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Mr. Deason was born May 7, 1925, in Adair County, Oklahoma to Homer and Flora Deason. He passed from this life October 15, 1996, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.
Arie was a lifelong resident of Adair County and worked as a carpenter in the construction business. He married Lila Hummingbird and has made his home at Spade Mountain for the past 27 years.
Mr. Deason is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and one daughter.
He leaves behind his wife, Lila of the home, one son Roger Deason of Stilwell, ten daughters, Hattie Smith, Virginia Sawney, Beverly Canoe, Kathy Fourkiller, Rita Doublehead, and Sherri Deason all of Stilwell; Deannie Parks, and Paula Fixin of Tahlequah, Patsy Mansell of Okmulgee, and Brenda Deason of Cassville, MO, four brothers Frank, Noah, and Bill Deason, of Stilwell and Dee Deason of Broken Arrow, twenty-four grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
