Nellie Mannon Turtle, 96, Watts, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1987 in Tahlequah, OK. Born Dec. 25, 1890 in the Indian Territory, she was the daughter of John and Jennie Mannon.
She was a housewife and a lifetime resident of Watts, OK. Mrs. Turtle was a member of the Illinois River Indian Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, William Turtle and Tony Turtle both of Chewey; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one niece, Leona Kelley of Drumright; one nephew, Carl Manning of Westville.
Services were held Wed. Sept. 17, 1987 at the Illinois River Indian Baptist Church with Rev. John Blackwood and Rev. John Goodrich officiating. Interment in the Sands Cemetery under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR.
