GENE BIRD 67 of Chewey, OK, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at his home in Adair County.

Gene was born at home on January 3,1944 in Chewey, OK; he was the son of Frank and Polly Bird. Gene worked several years for Adair County and was a member of Illinois River Baptist Church. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include: Son Justin Bird, Kenwood, OK, Daughters; Sarah Pritchett, Stilwell, OK, Loretta Doublehead, Stilwell, OK; 2 Brothers; J.B. Bird, Chewey, OK, J.D. Bird & wife Laura Mae Chewey, OK; 2 grandchildren.

Gene is also survived by numerous family and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife - Shirley Bird, 3 brothers - Sunday Bird, Sam Bird, Johnny Bird and 3 sisters - Mary Hilderbrand, Sara Oakball and Anne Sixkiller.
