Martin Cochran
August 27, 1944 - December 23, 2006
Martin Cochran, the son of Charlie Cochran and Maggie (Sam) Cochran, was born August 27, 1944 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2006 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of 62.
Martin obtained the rank of corporal in the U.S. Marines serving from March 16, 1966 - February 14, 1968 during the Vietnam War.
He returned to Stilwell and married Zelma Bunch on April 21, 1968.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Price and George and one sister, Mary Ann McHarque.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 39 years, Zelma Cochran, of the home; three sons, Anthony Cochran, Stephen Cochran, Jeremy Cochran and wife, Robin, all of Stilwell; one grandaughter Whitly Nicole Cochran, of Cherokee City, Arkansas; four brothers, Tom and wife Emma, Sanders and wife Irene, Jerry Cochran and wife Alvanita and John Cochran, and wife Marilyn, all of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Two sisters, Corena Wolfe and husband Adam and Pat Doublehead and husband Adam, both of Stilwell, Oklahoma, numerous friends, family, loved ones and church congregations also survive him.
Services were held Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Belfonte Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Morgan and John Adair officiating.
Interment followed at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
