Monroe Galcatcher, son of Josh Galcatcher and Emma Ruth (Teehee) Galcatcher, was born on November 22, 1952, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He departed this life and went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2013, at the Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of 60 years, 2 months and 24 days.

Monroe lived in the Stilwell area from childhood, growing up in the Salem Community. He graduated from Stilwell High School in 1971. He joined the National Guard for two years before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Monroe moved back to Stilwell about six years ago.

He enjoyed family gatherings, telling jokes and making people smile. He also liked watching football and wrestling, and in his younger years wrestled for Sooner Pro Wrestling out of Tulsa, from 1986 to 1990. Monroe loved his children and was very proud of his grandchildren.

Monroe loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing the Gospel with everyone he talked to. He also enjoyed listening to Gospel music. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son, Scott Galcatcher and wife, Abbi, of Tulsa, OK; one daughter, Kelley and husband, Matt Hoke, also of Tulsa, OK; his mother, Emma Ruth Galcatcher; two brothers, Woodrow Galcatcher, Marvin Galcatcher and wife, Loretta; one sister, Francine Galcatcher and husband, Leon Frogg, all of Stilwell, OK, eight grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Josh Lee Galcatcher and brother, Johnny Galcatcher.

Monroe's memory will forever be alive in our hearts, never to be forgotten.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013, at Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Campbell and Bro. Chuck Glass officiating.
