Virginia Lee Whitmire, daughter of John Franklin and Nancy C. (Edwards) Kindle was born Novembe 19, 1924 in Proctor, Oklahoma and departed this life on March 11, 2008 inTahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 21 days.
Virginia married Charlie Whitmire on October 6, 1940 and to this union 4 children were born; Norma, Freeda, Wayne, and Nancy.
She was a homemaker that enjoyed the duties that followed her role of a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She was a member of the Proctor Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Charlie, brothers; Bill, Jack, Bernie, Clyde, Claude Kindle, David and Sam Galyean, sisters; Bessie Kirk, Beulah Almendinger, Eva Hackler, Mable Rhine, Grace Postoak, Violet Woodridge, Molly Jacobs, Myrl Watts, and Iva Bozarth.
Virginia is survived by a very loving family that includes her children; Norma Vaughn and husband Leonard of Chandler, OK., Freeda Bateman and husband Wayne of Westville, OK, Wayne Whitmire of Proctor, OK, Nancy Reese and husband Larry of Proctor, OK, grandchildren; Tony Vaughn of Moore, OK, Roger Vaughn and Chris Vaughn both of Chandler, OK, Gina Brown, Tammy Delarosa, Shawna Snyder all of Westville, OK, Andrea Bigfeather, Larry Reese Jr., Jeremy Reese all of Tahlequah, OK, Tera Pate of Oklahoma City, OK, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 15, 2008 in the Proctor Community Church with Bro. Larry Kindle officiating.
Interment followed in Proctor Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
