Mrs. Lectie Smith - Westville Reporter - October 18, 1963
Funeral service for Mrs. Lettie Smith, 71, of Muskogee, was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Lescher Funeral Home in Muskogee, with the Rev. Sam Cox, pastor of Northside Baptist church officiating.
A twin sister of Mrs. Charley (Bess) Cagle of Westville, Mrs. Smith died Saturday in a Muskogee hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born October 10, 1892, in Christie the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Little, Mrs. SMITH had made her home in Muskogee since 1943 where she was a member of the Northside Baptist church. Her husband, Bill Smith, preceded her in death by several years.
Survivors include seven sons, Robert, Joe, Carl, Bill, Edgar and Sherman, all of Muskogee and Lloyd of Harvey, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. R. M. Perry, of Muskogee; 28 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; four sisters, including Mrs. Cagle, Westville, Mrs. Jennie Smith, Muskogee, Mrs. Susie Barton, Kilgore, Texas, Mrs. Mary VanBeber, Kansas, and a brother, Charley Little of River Bank, Calif.
Interment was in the Proctor Cemetery.
Those from Westville who attended the funeral service and burial were Mr. and Mrs. Charley Cagle, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Cagle and Deborah, Mr. and Mrs. Don Cagle, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Morris and Linda, Mrs. Lois Rector, Mr. and Mrs. John Kirby.
