Richard H. Self, son of Lark Guy and Freda Callie (Newborn) Self, was born August 25, 1933 in Summers, AR and passed from this life on November 13, 2017 in Tahlequah, OK, at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 19 days.

He really enjoyed being a chicken farmer and raising cattle for many years. He enjoyed deer hunting in his younger years and loved horses and mules. He was a member of Clearfork Community Church. One of his favorite joys in life was time spent with his family that he and his wife Ida Mae of over 55 years were so proud to have raised. He often joked that the key to their marriage was he did whatever she wanted to do. As many know Richard had a mustache for as long as many have known him and was always considered a jokester with that being said, Richard had a nurse who knew he wanted to be shaved, except she got a little razor happy and cut his mustache off.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; Lark and Freda Self, wife; Ida Mae Self, great grandson; Breydon Hammer, Siblings; Clifford, Waymond and Howard Self and 1 infant sister.

He is survived by a very loving family that includes his daughters; Carol Gore and husband Leslie of Stilwell, OK, Debi Swift and husband Otis of Tulsa, OK, Pam Horn and husband Marty of Westville, OK, 3 grandchildren; Richard Murray and wife Stephanie of Stilwell, OK, Erin Hammer and wife Lana of Collinsville, OK, Amanda Murray of Westville, OK, great grandchildren; Kalyn Croley, Kelsey Hammer, Ty and Lane Murray, Wyatt Murray, Hayden Murray Mason Brown, Cash Hammer, Coy Murray and Colton Murray. Siblings; Maybelline Dale, Laura Grace Dixon, Jo Billy Haddock, Ronald Self and wife Judy, Katrinka Love and husband Raymond, Jane Skipper and husband Ned, Gary Self and wife Eloise, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
