William (Bill) R. Scott, 72, of Proctor, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
Bill was born October 26, 1941 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, a son of Robert Rue and Katie Christine (Reese) Scott. He married Minnie Ann (Humphrey) Scott on December 24, 1963 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He graduated from Westville High School in 1960 before serving in both the Army and the National Guard for four years. He worked as a carpenter for most of his life, alongside Garland Young and became a custodian at Skelly Public School until becoming too ill to work. He attended Proctor Community Church in Proctor, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Katie (Reese) Scott, one brother, Bobby Scott and one great grandchild, Tyrees Napier.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Scott of the home; one son, Mark Scott of Proctor, Oklahoma; one daughter, Pamela McGrew and husband Danny of Kansas, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Alicia McGrew of Proctor, Oklahoma, Britteny Napier of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ashton Scott of Pryor, Oklahoma, Colton and Katie C. Scott of Quapaw, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Tamia Napier, Zayden and Kayden Scruggs of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two brothers, L.J. Scott of Proctor, Oklahoma, J.D. Scott and wife Marsha of Chance, Oklahoma; one sister, Sylvia Walters of Proctor, Oklahoma; several cherished nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews; a special friend, Rick Watt of Westville, Oklahoma; countless beloved friends and dearest acquaintances.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Proctor Community Church, Proctor, Oklahoma with Bro. Audie Vaughan officiating. Interment followed at Proctor Cemetery, Proctor, OK under the direction of Roberts & Hart Funeral Home.
