Etta Joyce Kindle, 78, died Monday, August 26 at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Etta was born in Prairie Grove, Arkansas on November 16, 1940 to Cecil Lee (Bill) Hamilton and Mae Lois (Marshall) Hamilton. The oldest of six, Etta grew up in Proctor, Oklahoma swimming in Tyner Creek and playing with her siblings and friends. She attended Westville High School.

Etta married Kenneth Ray Kindle on March 8, 1958 and was married for 40 years until his death in 1998. Together they had three children. Etta and Ray spent their life living in Tulsa during the week and going “down home” to their farm on the weekends working the cattle and spending time with their family. Etta worked as a receptionist at Modern Bindery. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of her mother, painting and working in her yard. She was a talented artist. Etta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all.
 

Etta was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mae Hamilton; her brother, Willard Dale Hamilton and her husband, Kenneth Ray Kindle.
 

She is survived by her three children: Danny (Sonya) Kindle, Anita (Jay) Henderson and Kay Kindle; three sisters, Wilma Dean Bargas; Carolyn (Larry) Lockwood, and Trella (Rick) Pharr; two brothers, Robert (Geneva) Hamilton and Odean (Leona) Hamilton; grandchildren: Lane (Shaina) Kindle, Shelby DeBenedictis, Brooklyn DeBenedictis, Hanna (Brant) Caton, Trey Henderson and Jenny Kindle; two special great-grandchildren: Kaston Kindle and Easton Lemon and a large number of family and friends.
 

The family would like to thank Grace Hospice and their staff for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Hospice or a charity of your choice.
 

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, with Chaplain Roy Bingham officiating.

Interment followed at Proctor Cemetery, Proctor. Roberts & Hart Funeral Home of Westville handled the arrangements.
