David C. Walker
August 2, 1927-February 16, 2008
David C. Walker was born August 2, 1927, in Braggs City, Missouri to Harvey T. Walker and Mary Jane (Davis) Walker.
He passed away February 16, 2008, in Stilwell, Oklahoma after a long bout with Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.
David was a minister of the gospel and preached in various churches around the area while he was able. He was a construction worker and stone mason in his early years and was also a former employee of Cherokee County as a grader operator.
He loved to fish and work in the garden. He was always busy doing somethig outside but always had time to sit and talk with the family about problems or about God.
When he did rest, he had his Bible in hand reading it. He will be missed by all that knew him. He is in a better home now, awaiting his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mary Jane Walker, three brothers, Willard, Teddy and Leroy Walker and one sister, Mary Lou Good.
His surviving family includes his wife of 47 years, Delphia Leona (Vaughn) Walker of the home, his children; Cheryl and Eldon C. Conner of McAlester, OK and their Children, Charles and Jessica Walker, Jonathan and his fiancee Jennifer Lucky, all of McAlester, OK, Dorthy and Ronald Thomas of Eureka, CA and their children, Elizabeth and Lindsay Thomas of Eureka, CA, Gerald and Judy Walker of Stilwell OK and their children, Zachery, Darrick, James, Sara and Darius all of Stilwell, OK, Henry Walker and Jennifer Johnson of Hulbert, OK and their children, Roger and Haley of Hulbert, OK and grandson Cody Walker of Westville, OK. Numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Proctor Community Church with Bro. Audie Vaughan officiating.
Interment followed at Proctor Sanders Community Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
