Geneva Nadine Burnett

Geneva Nadine Burnett, daughter of Henry Cleveland and Nell (Butler) Akin was born September 14, 1930 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on December 28, 2014 in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 14 days.

Geneva loved going to antique stores and flea markets, enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers, like to go fishing and attending gospel singings. She was a member at Whitmire Community Church and attended faithfully while her health permitted.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband; Andrew Benham, 2nd husband; Floyd Burnett, daughter; Dorothy Gayle Benham and brother; Reford C. Akin.

Geneva is survived by a very loving family that includes her children; Mary Ruth Tarkington and husband Orville of Cleveland, OK, Keith Benham and wife Jan of Stilwell, OK, Lloyd Benham and wife Sheila of Watts, OK, Nadine Pettigrew of Westville, OK, special son in law; Roy Pettigrew, 6 step children, 10 grandchildren; Patty Gayle Willcox and husband Jeff, Shelly Lynn Sanders and husband Chris, William Lee Tarkington and wife Andrea, Eddie Benham, Tammy Benham and companion Leon, Tina Baskin and husband David, Misty Brown and husband John, Teresa Phillips, Cheryl Dean Brannon, Amanda Pritchett and husband Hershall. 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several other relatives and many friends also survive her.

Funeral services at 10 am on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Max Wilson officiating. Interment followed at Proctor Cemetery, Proctor, OK.
