Grady Curtis Williams Sr.
March 20, 1920-May 30, 2008
Grady Curtis Williams Sr., was born to Alva and Ella (Keeter) Williams on March 20, 1920 in the Christie Community.
He departed this life on May 30, 2008 at his home in the Piney Community at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 10 days.
On November 26, 1949 he married Jewel Akins and to this union 2 children were born; Ellen Kay and Grady, Jr.
Easter Sunday April 14, 1974 he was buried by Baptism in our Lord Jesus Christ at the Christian Church in Stilwell.
Grady proudly served his country 3 1/2 years in the United States Air Force during World War II, from August 11, 1942 until February 2, 1946. He was very patriotic, keeping old glory waiving on his lawn much of the time. He was a member of American Legion Post 102.
Preceding him in death were his parents; Alva and Ella Williams, brother; Roy Williams, sister; Delma Haddock, and an infant brother and sister.
He leaves behind a very loving family that includes his wife of 58 years, Jewel of the home, daughter; Ellen Workman and husband Ernie, son; Grady Williams Jr., 4 grandchildren; Nathan Workman and wife Tasha, Jessica Joellen Workman, Jerry Williams and Cody Williams.
Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with Jack Steele officiating.
Intermenat followed in the Piney Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
