Julia Dorothy Roberts
November 2, 1916-April 15, 2008
Julia Dorothy Roberts daughter of Robert L. and Arminta (Shelton) Fields was born November 2, 1916 in Piney, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on April 15, 2008 in Green Valley, Arizona at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 13 days.
She married the love of her life, Russell Roberts on December 23, 1932 and to this union 5 children were born; Kenneth, William, Juliann, Don and Wahleeah.
Julia was a homemaker who enjoyed the duties that followed her role of a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
She was a great seamstress, loved to bake pies and could make any kind. Julia loved to volunteer at the Stilwell Hospital during her younger years.
She lived through a changing world including, the Great Depression, World War I and World War II.
She was a member of Calvary Southern Baptist Church in Stilwell and was always active at any church she attended while away from Stilwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 65 years; Russell Roberts, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Julia is survived by a very loving family that includes her children; Ken Roberts and wife Chris of Albuquerque, NM, Bill Roberts and wife Wally of Duchesne, UT, Juliann Robinson and husband Dave of Green Valley, AZ, Don Roberts and wife Cathy of Amado, AZ and Wahleeah Long of Las Vegas, NV. A very special niece; Wanda Jean White of Del City, OK, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held, Monday, April 21, 2008 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Joey Ketcher and Bro. Bill Roberts officiating.
Interment followed in the Piney Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
