Lewis Bencen "Buck" Hudson

Lewis Bencen (Buck)Hudson was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma on April 3, 1938, to Kimsey Adair and Anna Hudson. He passed away July 7, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years 3 months and 4 days.

Buck was a lifelong resident of Stilwell. He attended grade school at Piney School and Stilwell High School. He referred to Piney School as “Piney University,” and would tell everybody that he was a graduate of “Piney University.”

He was married to Wanda Sue (Stayathome) Hudson and they have three children.

Buck worked in the construction field, working at several places in Stilwell and surrounding areas. His favorite type of work was building chicken houses.

Buck’s favorite things to do was to go on trips and to take rides out in the country in different parts of Adair County and go to Walmart to “people watch.”

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Kimsey Adair and Anna Hudson, grandfather, Willis Earl Hudson, grandmother, Leona (Bea) Hudson, uncle, Frank Hudson and aunt, Dorothy Cotner.

Buck is survived by his wife, Wanda Hudson, of Stilwell; three children, Tarita Kay Hudson (Dan) of Stilwell, Michael Lewis Hudson of Waldron, Ark. and Cheryl Ann Mathews (Terry) of Stilwell.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, Mary Ann Crittenden (Ray) of Westville, David Moten of Stilwell, Matthew Hudson and A.J. Hudson of Waldron, Ark., Hunter Hudson, of Gassville, Ark. and Sierra Mathews, of Stilwell and one great-grandson, Silas Hudson (Buck’s little GG). He is also survived by three nieces that he considered his grandchildren also...Kimi Teehee, Kristi Campbell and Keesha Lindsey.

Buck is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Bennie Turn and Archie Stayathome and one sister- in-law, Linda Lindsey (Mark).

Buck had many friends and family that he leaves to share his memory.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Piney Cemetery with Rev. Robert Fourkiller and Rev. Lawrence Fourkiller officiating. Burial is under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
