Lily Beatrice Phillips, daughter of James and Ella (Hess) Chance, was born in Westville, Oklahoma on March 12, 1923 and passed from this life on Monday, July 4, 2011 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 23 days.

Lily was blessed with a long life and a wonderful family. She was a teacher by profession and loved to help children learn and grow. She married her love, J.P., on August 2, 1950 and they enjoyed almost 61 years together. Lily was a warm and giving person who will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Ella Chance, brothers: Louie and Lester Chance, sister: Gladys Chance and an infant sister.

Surviving Lily is a loving family that includes her husband: J.P. Phillips of the home in Watts, OK, daughters: Anita Jo Bonaparte and husband Joseph of Watts, Cecelia Janell Fowler and husband Danny of Watts, grandchildren: Joseph Chance Bonaparte of Siloam Springs, AR, Joshua Willis Bonaparte, Erica Jo Bonaparte, Mackenzie Jade Fowler and Sarah Nicole Fowler, all of Watts.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Roberts Chapel, Westville with Bro. Jim Beavers officiating. Interment followed at Phillips Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
