Mildred Ward, daughter of Chester Hammer, Sr. and Mae Ruth Scraper, was born October 16, 1949 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on May 22, 2015 in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years.

She enjoyed being outdoors. Mildred liked gardening and flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and grandbabies as often as possible. She was a hard worker and did her best to support her family. Mildred will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by a loving family that includes her spouse: Raydean McGowen of the home in Westville, OK, daughter: Kimberly Ward of Westville, grandchildren: Landon, Myshala, Raelynn and Kaylynn, brothers: David Lee Hammer and Chester Hammer, Jr. of Westville, Lawrence Hammer and wife Rozanna of Hulbert, OK, sisters: LouAnn Collins and husband Bill of Stilwell, OK, Susie Ann Underwood and husband Teddy Joe of Bristow, OK. A multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.

Graveside services were held at 1 pm on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Old Green Cemetery, Westville, OK with Bro. John Blackwell officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
