OLETA WHITENER REED PASSED FROM THIS LIFE ON SATURDAY, JULY 28, 2012 AFTER A LENGTHY ILLNESS.

BORN IN STILWELL, OKLAHOMA TO JIM AND MAUDE (WHITMIRE) NEFF ON OCTOBER 12, 1914. SHE WAS THE ONLY DAUGHTER AND OLDEST CHILD OF HER PARENTS. HER BROTHERS ALWAYS REGARDED HER AS THE GRANDEST LADY EVER. THEY TRULY LOVED THEIR ‘SIS'.

SHE MET AND MARRIED AARON S. WHITENER AND MOVED TO TEXAS WITH HIM. THIS UNION WAS BLESSED WITH FOUR CHILDREN, PEGGY, MILDRED, AARON S. AND JANIE.

OLETA WORKED AS A BUYER AND IN SALES FOR DEPARTMENT STORES. SHE WAS AN ACTIVE CHURCH MEMBER. OLETA MARRIED GROVER REED ON APRIL 12, 2002. THEY SPENT MANY HAPPY HOURS WORKING TOGETHER AND ENJOYING LIFE. SHE LOVED GOING WITH GROVER ON HIS CROSS COUNTRY TRUCKING JOBS.

SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, TWO DAUGHTERS, PEGGY HERBER AND MILDRED BEAR, ONE GRANDSON, JOHN SCOTT WHITTIER, SEVEN BROTHERS, BERT C. JAMES M, GENE, DENNIS L, RUSSELL, WENDELL, AND JIMMIE.

THOSE LEFT TO CHERISH HER MEMORY ARE HER HUSBAND GROVER OF THE HOME, ONE SON AARON S. WHITENER AND ONE DAUGHTER JANIE MOORE AND HUSBAND JAY ALL OF GRANBURY, TEXAS, NINE GRANDCHILDREN LEANN, ROBIN, GINGER, JON, ALICIA, ERIN, BRANDI, MARY JANE, AND JERRY WAYNE, SEVERAL GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. TWO SONS-IN-LAW MILTON HERBER OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS AND JON BEAR OF WHICITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND TWO SISTERS-IN-LAW DAISY NEFF AND NOVELLA NEFF, MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.

GRAVESIDE SERVICES AT 10:30 AM ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1, 2012 AT OAK GROVE CEMETERY.
