Lillian McGee, the daughter of Arthur Eugene and Viola (Rider) Bigby, was born April 25, 1919, in Adair County, Oklahoma. On June 14, 2010, Lillian went home to be with the Lord in Stilwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years, 1 month and 19 days.
Lillian worked for Cherokee Nation as a health representative before retiring. She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of AARP, Eastern Star, Going Snake Historical Society, and the Nancy Ward’s Descendants Organization.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, three children, Cecil Bruce McGee, Nannette McGee and Wanda Jene Mitchell, one brother, Bruce Mitchell Bigby and two sisters, Oleta Hughes, and Juanita Curtis.
She leaves behind a loving family which includes her son, Jim McGee and wife, Betty, of Stilwell; eight grandchildren, Lorrie Anne McGee, of Bristow, Tara Anderson and husband, Joe, of Stilwell, Dana Lillian Mitchell, of Sacramento, CA, George Gordon Mitchell, of Folsom, CA, Toney McGee, of Stilwell, Leigh Ann McGee and husband, Clayton Faubion, of Salisbury, MD, Jamie Geneva and husband, Garret, of Stilwell and Bill McGee and wife, Samantha, of Stilwell, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Barry Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
