Dennis B. Neff
October 10, 1925 - May 31, 2007
Dennis B. Neff, 81, the son of James W. and Maude Whitmire Neff, was born on October 10, 1925 at his home in Stilwell, Oklahoma.
He departed this life on May 31, 2007 at Muskogee, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Las Cruces, New Mexico Military Academy in 1942. Dennis entered the Army in 1943 and served his country in various locations around the world; Italy, the Philippians, Guam, and Japan. After the war he was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. During the time in the armed services, in which he served his country proudly, he was decorated with the Bronze Star, The World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, five o/s BSS, Army occupation Medal (Italy and Japan), Purple Heart Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/4 BSS, and one Broze Arrowhead, a marksman (MI) and the Good Conduct Medal.
Dennis married Novella Williams on September 7, 1959. To this union was born three children; Susie, John Walter, and Adam Wayne. Dennis was Baptized at Rock Springs Baptist Church by his brother, James M. Neff, on January 21, 1976. At the time of his passing he was a member of Calvary Southern Baptist Church in Stilwell, OK.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; James W. and Maude Neff, a son, John Walter, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Michelle Neiman. Also, five brothers; Wendall, Bert C, Gene, James M., and Russell Neff.
To mourn his passing is his wife, Novella, of the home, a daughter, Susie Neiman and her husband Steve of Perry, Oklahoma, a son; Adam Wayne Neff and wife Nancy; along with three grandchildren, Zane, Nathan, and Brooklyn Neff; Also, one sister, Oleta Whitner Reed, all of Stilwell, Oklahoma. One brother; Jimmy Neff of California, and a sister-in-law, Daisy Neff of Stilwell, OK. Dennis will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 5, 2007.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
