Funeral services for Marvie Hampton were held 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2006 at Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with Bro O.B. Carlton officiating.
Internment followed at New Hope Cemetery in Chance under the direction of Hart Funeral Home
Marvie Hampton was born July 4, 1922 in Adair County, Oklahoma to Robert H. Holland and Lois Alma (Welch) Holland.
She departed this life March 21, 2006 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 17 days.
She was married to William Lloyd Hampton on January 16, 1940 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She and her husband were proprietors of the Chewey Store in the 1960’s and she was employed at Skelly School for many years, where she served as a cook. Marvie lived most of her life in Adair County and attended the Souls Harbor Church in Chewey, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Lewis Holland and one sister, Mildred "Sally" Sixkiller
Marvie is survived by her children, Joyce Lowe of Tulsa, Gail and Sam Webster of Watts, Gary and Linda Hampton of Watts, and David Hampton of Chewey; two sisters: Marie Hampton and Maline "Pete" Noblin, both of Longview, WA; two brothers; Milton "Jim" Holland of Watts and Manse "Spud" Holland, of Westville; five grandsons, Terry Reed of Uliss, TX., Scott Webster of Christie, Tim Webster of Watts, Donathan Hampton of Mobile, AL., and Darris Hampton, of Yukon; three great granddaughters, Misti Hazelwood, Brittany Webster and Mallory Hampton; seven great grandson, Alex Reed, Randall Webster, Stephen Ketcher, Blake, Dillon, Garrett and Dakota Hampton, one great-great grandson, Michael Hazelwood and other loved ones and friends.
