Fredrick “Fred” Wilson Favor
March 25, 1919 - January 19, 2006
Services for Fredrick “Fred” Wilson Favor, age 86, were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2006, at Christie Southern Baptist Church with Brother Bill Matthews officiating. Internment followed at Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Fredrick Wilson Favor was born to Earl Archibald and Milbrey May (Hamilton) Favor on March 25, 1919, Devine, Texas and passed from this life on January 19, 2006, in Claremore, after reaching the age of 86 years, 9 months and 24 days.
After graduation, Fred joined the United States Navy where he served during World War 11, Fred married his sweetheart, Frances Irene Dause on December 25, 1938, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
To this union three children were born. He was employed by the United States Postal Service. After retiring from the postal service, he and wife Irene enjoyed working on their farm together. His family was very important to him and they will miss him dearly.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances; daughter-in-law: Gwen Favor; three brothers: Waymon, Jack and Warren Favor, two sisters: Mildred McLain and Mary Ruth Trenary. Fred is survived by one son, Don Favor of Tulsa; two daughters, Fredericka “Ricki” Thompson of Tahlequah and Patricia Dodd of Westville; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
