Watie Wayne Brewer, son of John and Thirza (Still) Brewer was born June 15, 1919 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on April 6, 2012 in Warren, Michigan at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 21 days.
He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He worked at the Chrysler Corporation for 30 years before retirement. He had a great love for baseball especially Tiger baseball. He also enjoyed spending time at his home in the Honey Hill Community and walking around in the woods with his hunting dogs.
Watie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Floyd Brewer, Perry Brewer, Emmett Brewer, Moses Brewer, John Brewer, Margaret Cox, Sallie Starr, Jewell Proctor, Cherry Lane and 2 stillborn siblings.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his children; Pamela Boor and husband Philip of Warren, Michigan, Gary Brewer of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, 3 grandchildren, Joshua Boor, Jeremiah Boor and Jacob Boor and wife Laura and 1 great grandson, Julian Boor all of Sterling Heights, Michigan. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Honey Hill Church with Bro. Glen Hopkins officiating. Interment followed at Honey Hill Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
