James Delno Long was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Cornelius “Pat” and Minnie (Davis) Long on June 16, 1942, and departed this life on April 4, 2010, at his home in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 18 days.
James was a self-employed auto mechanic. He enjoyed going to car races and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, one son, Jim Edward Long; three brothers, Nophaie Long, George Long and Lewis Long and one sister, Clara Lee Workman.
Survivors include one son, Robbie Lynn Long, of Stilwell, OK; two daughters, Becky Renee Tate, of Stilwell, OK and Angela Hyslip and husband, Gwen, of Lincoln, AR; two grandsons, Chance and Jeremy Hyslip, of Lincoln, AR; four brothers, Steve Long and family, of Stilwell, OK, J.C. Long and family, of Briggs, OK, Andy “Junior” Long, of Stilwell, OK and David Long, of Tahlequah, OK; one sister, Mary Ann Nofire and family, of Tahlequah, OK and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Freewater Cemetery with Bro. B.J. Latta officiating. Final arrangments were entrusted to Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
