Geraldine Ruth Hubbard the daughter of Carl and Luella (McGrew) Thrailkill was born December 1, 1928 in St. Joseph, Missouri and departed this life on May 23, 2008 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas at the age of 79 years 5 months and 22 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 sister; Juanita Gordon.
On March 11, 1949, she married Charles E. (Chuck) Hubbard in Alhambra, CA. Upon retirement from the Airforce, the family moved to Westville, OK., in 1978.
She was a member and past worthy matron of the order of Eastern Star, Westville Chapter 449 and First Baptist Church in Westville, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Jerry also taught Sunday school at several of the churches the family attended while in the Air Force, and was a member of the auxiliary of the disabled American Veterans #31 of Tahlequah, OK.
Jerry attended High School in Eagleville, MO., and moved to California with her parents after graduation. She attended USC, and after her marriage to Chuck worked at the Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB California, then in special project at Norton AFB, San Bernardino, California, while Chuck served over seas in Korea in 1951 and 1952. She then became a full time Mom.
Jerry was a kind and gentle lady, and exemplified the Christian Spirit. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, watching ballgames and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her husband; Charles Hubbard of the home in Westville, OK., 2 daughters; Sonja Hubbard, Pat Hubbard, 1 son; Carl and wife Karla, 1 granddaughter; Kelsey Reane Hubbard.
Very special friends Margie and Willie Roe, several nieces, nephews and many relatives and other friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Westville First Baptist Church with Bro. James Duffell officiating.
Interment followed in the Foreman Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
