Thelma L. Hawk Gonzalis

Thelma L. Hawk Gonzalis was born February 12, 1941 to Thomas Hawk, Sr. and Emma Bird Frogg in Adair County, Oklahoma. She flew home to be with our Lord on Friday, November 30, 2012 at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 18 days.

Thelma was married to the late Chester Lee “Jim” Gonzalis on May 13, 1961 and to this union 10 children were born - Sandra, Richard, Rachel, Leslie, Debra, Lorenzo, Vickie, Antonio, Zachary, Veronica and 2 grandsons that she raised as her own - LeeAnder and Kelly Gonzalis. Thelma loved being outdoors – she also enjoyed picking berries, wild onions and taking a ride out in the country. She was a member of Rock Fence Baptist Church and enjoyed attending when her health permitted.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Jim, 2 brothers: Elmer Hawk and Cornelius “Jack” Frogg, parents: Emma Frogg, Thomas Hawk, Sr. and John Frogg, daughter Debra Gonzalis, son Zack Gonzalis, granddaughter Michelle “Usdi” Sanchez, 2 great grandsons Christian Garcia, Laik Baldridge Gonzalis and son in law Erasmo Sanchez.

Surviving her are Sandra Gonzalis and companion Danny of Stilwell, Richard Gonzalis and wife Elsie of Springdale, AR, Rachel Sanchez of Stilwell, Leslie “John” Gonzalis of the home, Lorenzo “Punch” Gonzalis and wife Teresa of Stilwell, Vickie Sanchez and husband Roberto of Stilwell, Antonio “Sook” Gonzalis and wife Judy of Stilwell, Veronica Gonzalis of the home, LeeAnder “White” Gonzalis and companion Deanne of Stilwell, Kelly “Frog” Gonzalis and wife Megan of Springdale, AR, 4 sisters – Sharon Pettit of Stilwell, Dolly, Mary and Christine Hawk, all of Ada, OK, 4 brothers – Leon Frogg of Stilwell, Jess, Jerry and Thomas Hawk, Jr., all of Westville, OK, 23 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Gary Leach officiating.

Interment followed at Feathers Cemetery.
