Winfred “Sonny” Grigsby, son of James and Nancy (Gritts) Grigsby, was born July 1, 1936 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on October 12, 2018 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years.
 

Sonny accepted the Lord as his Savior on December 31, 1982. He was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church. He loved spending time outdoors, watching OU football games and spending time with friends and family. He had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his parents, Jim and Nancy Grigsby, a brother, Roy Grigsby, a stepson, Orville Leach, and sisters Virginia Gutillo and Dorothy Hogner.


He is survived by his children, Larry Grigsby and Winfred Grigsby, Jr. of Stilwell, Marsha Grigsby of Hulbert, Leona Grigsby and Eddie Lowe of Okmulgee, step-daughters Elsie and Alice Gonzales of Stilwell, Lenora Leach of Tahlequah, and Joann Livers of Stilwell, 19 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and step grandchildren, siblings: Lucille Thomas of Sallisaw, Carol Alec of Tulsa, Sue Alberty and husband Dewey of Tahlequah, Don Grigsby and wife Elaine, Pat Fourkiller and husband Raymond, Lucretia Grigsby of Stilwell, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends survive him.
 

Funeral services were held Friday, October 19, 2018 at Roberts/Reed- Culver Chapel, Stilwell, Oklahoma with Chaplain Bill Holcomb officiating.

Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery, Stilwell.
