Leo Walkingstick
September 25, 1938 - May 12, 2007
Leo Walkingstick, the son of Samuel Thomas Walkingstick and Reba Fay (Price) Walkingstick, was born September 25, 1938 in Bakersfield, California.
He departed this life on May 12, 2007 in his home at the age of 68.
Leo was a 1956 graduate of Stilwell High School and held an associate's degree in engineering from Portland State College.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air force where he worked as an air traffic controller. After his military service, Leo was employed as an engineer at Conoco for over 18 years. He was one of the first seven employees and a cofounder of Cherokee Nation Industries where he was employeed as General Manager. Leo was also an inventor with several patents.
He was preced in death by his father, Sam Walkingstick; a brother, Nathaniel Walkingstick and an infant brother.
His surviving family includes six children, Steven James Walkingstick, of Pryor, OK,. Mary Elizabeath Gresham and huband, Joshua, Leo Michael Walkingstick and wife, Chanel, all of Stilwell, Thomas Frank Walkingstick and wife, Shannon, Patricia Mary Cullen and husband, Mark, all of Broken Arrow, OK and George Leo Walkingstick and wife, Cheryl, of Tahlequah, OK; two sisters, Pamela Kay Augare, of Stilwell and Juhree Green and husband, Dale, of Tule Lake, CA; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including two very special nephews, John Walkingstick, of Brush, CO and Mark Augare, of Stilwell.
Services were held Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Harat Memorial Chapel with Pastor Max Ford officiating.

Interment followed at Elm Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
