Peggy Jean Newman, daughter of Sequoyah and Pauline (Beamer) Leach, was born on January 9, 1966 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 48 years.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Peggy loved spending time with her husband and grandkids. During the summer she would go driving around and take her grandkids swimming. She also loved to pitch horseshoes with her family and friends. Peggy liked to sit outside and admire her beautiful roses. She also enjoyed being outside and feeding her chickens. Peggy was a wonderful person to be around. She really knew how to make you laugh and smile. She will be loved and missed by many.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents: Sequoyah and Pauline Leach, two brothers, two sisters, a nephew and a niece.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her husband: Tom Newman of the home near Stilwell, OK, sons: Brian Newman, Randy Newman and wife Sheila, Thomas Newman and wife Starla, all of Stilwell, Luther Newman and wife Felicia of Pueblo, CO, daughters: Amanda Wildcat and husband Clinton of Tahlequah, OK, Lasha McNac and husband Tim, Natasha Rabbitt and husband Zacharyan, both of Stilwell, sisters: Mary Littledeer and husband Leo, Cheryl Christie and husband Leroy, Vicki Balderas and husband Chanel, all of Stilwell, brother: Sequoyah Leach, Jr. of Stilwell, 5 grandsons, 10 granddaughters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Todd Dowty and Bro. "Dino" Leach officiating. Interment followed at Echota Cemetery.
