Mazola Galcatcher
February 15, 1931 - March 31, 2006
Funeral services for Mazola Galcatcher were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Echota Baptist Church with Bro. Ellis Foster officiating.
Interment followed at Echote Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Mazola Galcatcher the daughter of Joe Coon and Lucy Campbell, was born February 15, 1931 in Adair County. She passed away March 31, 2006 at her home in Adair County, at the age of 75 years, one month and 16 days.
Mazola grew up in the Rocky Mountain Community and attended Rocky Mountain School and Sequoyah High School. She attended the Cherokee Nation Secretarial Training Program at NSU and retired as a health care provider. She was a lifetime member of Echota Baptist Church where she served in many areas such as treasurer, song leader, WMU and Sunday school teacher for the Cherokee class Mazola taught Cherokee to New Tribe Missionaries and had a love for gospel singing. She served on Echota Cemetery Committee for many years.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Lucy Campbell; father, Joe Coon; husband, Tom Galcatcher; brother, Wilson Campbell; a baby sister; three sisters, Martha Scott, Mary Jane Galcatcher, Bobbi Jean Seay and five infant siblings
Survivors include one brother, Joe Coon, Jr., of Tulsa; one sister, Stella Flute of Tahlequah; 15 nieces, nine nephews, several great nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
