Martha Foster, the daughter of George Wolf and Lizzie (Wildcat) Wolf, was born April 6, 1930, in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2008, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 16 days.
Martha was married to James Foster for 54 years and to this union four children were born, James Pete, Jack, Mary & Jacqueline. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Beaver Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed. Martha was a homemaker, who loved to cook for family and others. She loved to give to others in need and was always kind to others.
In her earlier years, she worked for Kansas City Southern Railroad as a cook. She also took care of her younger brothers and sisters. She loved to sew and most of all cook. Martha always had extra pies, biscuits and cookies on her kitchen table and you never left hungry at her house. Her favorite activities included gardening, canning and planting flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lizzie Wolf, two brothers, John and Jeff, five sisters, Mary, Annie, Sarah, Nellie and Leona and one grandchild, Jamie Foster.
She is survived by a loving family that includes her husband, James Foster, of the home in Stilwell; two sons, James Pete Foster and wife, Shari, of Stilwell, Jack Foster and wife, Paula, of Porter; two daughters, Mary Foster and Jacqueline Foster, of Stilwell, three granddaughters, nine great grandchildren, three brothers, Roy Taylor, Walter Wolf and Tom Wolf and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Echota Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Leach and Bro. Bridge Chuckluck officiating. Interment followed at Echota Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
