Ellis Foster, Sr., was born on November 26, 1931 to John and Jennie (Batt) Foster in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 15, 2015 in Stilwell at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 17 days.

Ellis married Louise Waterdown in December of 1951 and to this union two children were born: Ellis, Jr. and Karen.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War during 1953 to 1961.

Ellis worked for Dennison in Chicago, Illinois for several years until he returned to Oklahoma and worked at various companies, the last being Stilwell Foods.

He enjoyed sports, especially baseball. He was an avid player and coach of baseball and softball, but hung up his glove, when he turned his life over to the Lord.

Ellis was ordained as a Baptist Minister in 1978. He was a pastor for New Greenleaf, Cedar Tree and Echota Baptist Church, until the Lord called him home.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Louise Foster, parents: John and Jennie Foster, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Ellis is survived by a very loving family that includes his son: Ellis Foster, Jr., daughter: Karen Resendiz, granddaughter: Lauren Kay Grayson, grandsons: Foster Wayne Grayson and wife Kristin, William Ellis Grayson, Jobie Reyes Grayson and Victor Brian Resendiz, a special blessing: great grandson: Kaleb Joseph Grayson, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.

Funeral services at 1 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Echota Baptist Church, Stilwell, OK with Rev. Dale Wilson and Rev. Gary Leach officiating. Interment followed at Echota Cemetery, Stilwell, OK under the direction of Roberts Reed-Culver Funeral Home
