Gary Mearl Caton son of Frank and Lela (Brock) Caton was born on May 12, 1945 in Stilwell, Oklahoma, and departed this life to be at his eternal home with Jesus on September 8, 2019 in Stilwell at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 27 days.
 

Born the youngest son, he had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He grew up in the Ewing Chapel community where he had a special buddy and friend; Adrian Buckner, whom he went to school with and then worked with at Stilwell Foods. He loved to work and spent 38 years working at Stilwell Foods and Flowers Industries as a forklift driver. He also enjoyed yardwork while his health permitted. He never married but loved his nieces and nephews.  He was very close to his niece Tammy who spent many years caring for him and making sure his needs were met.

Gary loved our Lord and attended church while his health permitted. He enjoyed teaching the adult Sunday School class. He also read his Bible daily and did our daily bread devotional book. He will be remembered and missed by many friends and family.


He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents, brothers; Bilbert Caton and Wayne Caton and 1 niece.


Gary was survived by a very loving family that includes his sisters; Letha Beasley and husband Eugene and family, Betty Lois Caton Jones and family. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends also survive him.
 

Funeral services were held Monday, September 16, 2019 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, with Bro. Richard Gardner officiating.

Interment followed at Ewing Chapel Cemetery, Stilwell, under the direction of Roberts/Reed- Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell.
